Executive Board 2023-2024

Douglas Chu, P1
President (2023-2024)

Hello everyone,
I will be serving as the 2023-2024 SCCP President. I was a 2+3 Pre-Pharmacy undergraduate student at UOP. I joined SCCP because I wanted to explore all the opportunities of clinical pharmacy and learn more about how I can lead and participate in the field as a pharmacy student. Specifically, I want to be able to help patients with chronic disease states to improve their quality of life through my knowledge of medication and other non-pharmacological therapies; SCCP provided me those opportunities to learn more about how I can get involved in making my interest into reality. Being involved as a part of the executive board provides me the opportunity to help others explore how vast clinical pharmacy is, build a foundation for others to connect and solidify their interest in the field, and help create a community of future clinical pharmacists and leaders. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing volleyball with friends!!

Anthony Chau, P1
Vice President of Professional Affairs (2023-2024)

Hello everyone! My name is Anthony Chau and I will be your 2023-2024 SCCP VP of Professional Affairs. Before pharmacy school, I attended the University of the Pacific as an undergraduate as a 2+3 pre-pharm student. I joined SCCP primarily to learn more about clinical pharmacy, create connections, and develop skills to help me pursue a future in this field. On top of that, I joined the SCCP board to improve my communication skills, team collaboration, and to meet others who share the same passion as me. In my free time, I enjoy watching youtube and playing video games.

Ashley Ewen, P1
Vice President of Membership (2023-2024)

Hi Everyone!
My name is Ashley Ewen and I am the 2023-2024 SCCP-Pacific Vice President of Membership. Before attending the University of the Pacific, I completed my BS in Biochemistry at Arizona State University. I joined SCCP to learn more about the opportunities in the world of clinical pharmacy and to best prepare for residency interviews/applications. My goal is to obtain a residency and specialize as a Psychiatric Pharmacist, being cognizant to keep my options open to other specialties. Becoming a part of the board meant I could hone my leadership skills, learn from clinical pharmacists, and step out of my comfort zone, all while helping others explore the world of clinical pharmacy. I look forward to future events with new and current members. During my free time I enjoy hiking, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and doing hair.

Katy Kim, P1
Vice President of Fundraising (2023-2024)

Hello hello! My name is Katy, and I will be serving as the 2023-2024 SCCP VP of Fundraising. I was a student here at UOP as part of the 2+3 pre-pharmacy program before starting pharmacy school. I joined SCCP because I wanted to be able to network with clinical pharmacists, and learn more about the work they do in a hospital setting that can further expand my knowledge of clinical pharmacy and the care required for in-patient practice. Additionally, I joined the executive board to be further involved in upholding SCCP’s mission to encourage students to be educated in the clinical field of pharmacy and be dedicated to building a stronger community of future pharmacists. In my free time, I like to read, watch anime/kdramas, thrift, and go on foodie tours with my friends!

Annie Saefong, P1
Treasurer (2023-2024)

My name is Annie and I am the 2023-2024 SCCP-Treasurer. I went to UC Santa Cruz for my undergraduate and got a B.S. in Biology. I joined SCCP because I wanted to learn more about handling finances and help others learn more about clinical pharmacy. As for hobbies, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, eating good food, playing video games, and watching scary movies.

Vincent Nguyen, P1
Secretary (2023-2024)

My name is Vincent Nguyen, and I am the Secretary of SCCP-Pacific. I graduated from San Jose State University and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. I joined SCCP because I wanted to help plan events for all students to be able to learn about different opportunities in the world of clinical pharmacy. More so, I want to be able to build upon my leadership skills and interact with other pharmacists. On my own time, I always try to find opportunities to play board games and video games with my family and friends.

Grace Chen, P1
Historian/Webmaster (2023-2024)

I am Grace Chen, the SCCP Historian and Webmaster! I spent my undergraduate years at University of the Pacific as a 2+3 pre-pharmacy student. I joined SCCP because I wanted to explore the field of clinical pharmacy more, especially because I am interested in obtaining a residency after graduation. Being part of the SCCP board for me is a way to learn leadership and communication skills, which I believe are crucial for a future pharmacist to have. In my free time, I am an avid reader and always on the lookout for new books to peruse! When I am home with my friends and family there is nothing I enjoy more than hiking trails and having good food.
